Background Check Policy

Overview

To help protect the Crewzi community, hosts and landlords who list airline-crew housing on the Crewzi marketplace may be required to complete a background check before receiving Crewzi Verified Host status or publishing eligible listings. Background checks are processed by Checkr, a third-party consumer reporting agency.

What Checkr Is

Checkr is a consumer reporting agency that conducts background checks. Crewzi uses Checkr's Hosted Flow, which means Checkr — not Crewzi — collects your sensitive personal information (such as your Social Security number, date of birth, and driver's license information), displays the required disclosures and authorizations, and obtains your electronic consent directly.

What Crewzi Does and Does Not Collect

Crewzi does not collect or store:

• Social Security numbers
• Dates of birth
• Driver's license numbers or passport numbers
• Full criminal-record details
• Raw authorization documents

Crewzi sends only your email address (and, when appropriate, your name) to Checkr to create a candidate record. Crewzi receives only the resulting status and report outcome — never the underlying report contents.

Purpose and Permissible Use

The background check is conducted for marketplace trust and host eligibility purposes. It is one component of Crewzi's verification process and does not guarantee approval. Completion of a background check does not guarantee that a host will receive Crewzi Verified status.

Your Rights

Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), you have the right to:

• Receive a copy of your background check report from Checkr
• Dispute the accuracy or completeness of any information in your report
• Receive a pre-adverse action notice before Crewzi takes any adverse action based on the report
• Receive an adverse action notice if Crewzi denies or revokes verification based on the report

If you believe any information in your report is inaccurate or incomplete, you may dispute it directly with Checkr. Crewzi will not take adverse action until the dispute and notice process required by the FCRA and applicable state law is complete.

Individualized Review

Crewzi does not automatically reject, suspend, or publicly label a host based solely on a "consider" result, an assessment value, the presence of a record, a suspended report, a dispute, a partially completed report, or a canceled screening. When a report requires review, Crewzi conducts an individualized assessment under its approved written policy before making any eligibility decision.

Data Retention

Crewzi retains only the Checkr Candidate ID, Invitation ID, Report ID, status, and outcome — not the underlying report contents. Checkr retains report data according to its own retention policy. Crewzi does not store raw background check reports.

The Crewzi Verified Host Badge

The Crewzi Verified Host badge indicates that identity and background-check requirements were completed as of the approval date. Verification is not a guarantee of safety, conduct, property quality, or future behavior. The badge may be revoked if verification is invalidated, if a required renewal expires, or if an administrator revokes it with documented reason.
